Welcome to our website.

The West of England is a thriving branch of the Institute of Quarrying with over 265 members in the West of England area with attendance at technical evenings averaging around 35-40. On four occasions we have been awarded the President's Trophy demonstrating the contribution the branch makes in promoting the industry and the science of quarrying.

Event Summary


We are pleased to announce the appointment of our new Membership Liaison Officer Lauren Finch. For further details see Membership Liaison.

We are currently planning our 2010 Field Trip to Port of Bristol. Martin Downey, director, gave a presentation at our AGM in January and it will be interesting to follow this up with a visit. PoB has just been granted planning permission for a major development of the Port. The trip is being planned for June and further details will be available shortly.
