8th September - Energy Conservation in Quarries - Sandy Laird, Linatex

This paper presented by Sandy Laird of Linatex gave an insight into how energy is often wasted in quarries with oversized motors or by leaving plant running unnecessarily. The speaker gave and illustrated presentation with a number of practical examples of energy saving back up by calculated savings.

Questions from the audience demonstrated the interest in the subject and the potential that existed for savings to be made, with resulting improvement in unit performance.
